Sonder The Sunset is often praised for its excellent location, putting guests within easy walking distance of attractions like Sunset Beach and Stanley Park, as well as downtown Vancouver. The spacious rooms, complete with well-equipped kitchens, provide a comfortable and convenient stay, and the laundromat is a bonus for longer visits. While the location is great, some guests have occasionally noted noise from the street.

i found the apartment facilities perfect with a large living area. the bathroom was nice and clean. the bed was comfy. i also loved the balcony and the views from the 11th floor were really great.
i noticed a slight issue with street noise from the alley behind the place. recycle and garbage trucks came every day and made noise.

Mixed feelings about this apartment

good locationpoor isolationwater shutoff
The location IS good for getting around. It's convenient.
I had some issues. The apartment's door did not seem properly isolated, so i heard a lot of noise from the hallway. on one day, the water was shut off. They could have provided water bottles.

The bathroom felt cramped. The bathtub was slippery, I nearly fell a few times. The carpet in the hallway looked worn and the elevator looked quite old.

Convenient Stay Near Davie Street

early check-insimple self-check-insecure parkingconvenient location
Our host, Alexis, provided early check-in which I very much appreciated. Self-check-in was simple! Parking felt secure, and the location near many cafes and stores was a PLUS. The Sonder app gave us all necessary info for the stay.
The windows to the balcony were not clean. the bedroom also had a somewhat musty odor. I think soundproofing was poor.
Dining
9/10
Many food options were available nearby. Made dining easy. I found several restaurants within walking distance that suited my preferences. Several cafes offered quick bites and good coffee, ideal for starting the day.
Rooms
8/10
The one-bedroom apartment included a comfortable queen bed. A sofa bed provided extra sleeping space. The inclusion of a balcony added to the appeal of the room. There were proper amenities available.
Service
9/10
The staff was helpful. They responded quickly to my questions. The Sonder app provided 24/7 chat support. I found this very useful. The handwritten welcome note added a personal touch, and it was nice
Location
10/10
The location was great. It's only one alley away from Davie St, the main area. I think the neighborhood had a surprisingly QUIET atmosphere despite its proximity to a busy street.

Acceptable stay

comfortable bedequipped kitchenchoice restaurantshower watercustomer supportrunning water
The apartment was on the 8th floor. The beds were super comfortable. I slept well. The kitchen was nicely equipped. The area offered a choice of restaurants.
I didn't have hot water in the shower during my entire stay. I told customer support about this issue. Even after I left the water running for 20 minutes, it never got hotter than lukewarm.

well appointedstocked kitchenperfect locationeasy walkno room servicesoft bedpoor communication
the kitchen was well appointed. it included everything i needed for cooking (i especially liked the pots and pans!). the location worked great for walking. there were supermarkets, dining options, and the beach all within an easy walk.
i didn't like that there was no daily room service. i had to maintain the room myself, including making the bed and placing bagged rubbish in the corridor. the double bed felt quite soft (i prefer a firm mattress). communication felt less than ideal. it was a surprise to me there wasn't room service.
